I have a passion for monkeys and love to paint them. Something about their expressions is so human and humorous that they make the perfect subjects. I have visited various zoos and made numerous sketches to work up into paintings. In this picture I wanted to show the monkeys surrounded by fruit and colour, which made the viewer look into the work to see them. Also it demands work to make the various textures marry together, as with the colours. to make a harmonious whole.
